— Bridgewater, Hillsborough, New Jersey
On Sunday, October 17, Bridgeway Senior Healthcare (BSH) teamed up with Alzheimer’s New Jersey in the Walk® to Fight Alzheimer’s 2021. It was a sunny and crisp morning – one of the first fall-like days that brought out people of all ages, and even pets, to Duke Island Park in Bridgewater.
The BSH team, which consisted of 45 members including three residents, raised nearly $10,000 for Alzheimer’s New Jersey® so far, exceeding its goal of $7,500. Donations are being accepted until November 30. This year, House of Bloom in Raritan donated the delivery fee for flowers sent to any Bridgeway Care and Rehabilitation or Avalon Assisted Living building. Dominick’s Pizza Shoppe in Somerville donated pizzas, which were available for staff and residents to enjoy for a small donation to Alzheimer’s New Jersey®. “Next year, we would like to work with even more local businesses,” said Jennifer Furman, Director of Community Relations and Marketing at BSH. “We would like to thank everyone who walked with us and donated to this worthy cause. Our Bridgeway and Avalon Memory Care Villages focus on providing safe programs for those who need extra memory care support, but we want to do more! That’s why we walk.” Funds raised through Bridgeway’s team page support programs and services including Helpline, Care Consultations, the Respite Care and Wellness program, Family Support Groups, Always Safe®, and Clinical Trial Connections®. New Jersey residents rely on Alzheimer’s New Jersey® for personal and confidential assistance, guidance, relief from caregiving, emotional support and education, safety awareness, and clinical trial opportunities, as they face the emotional and financial challenges of Alzheimer’s disease that can often be overwhelming. This is a cause that is especially near and dear to both Bridgeway and Avalon. The Generations Village, available at Avalon Bridgewater, Avalon Hillsborough and Bridgeway at Hillsborough, offers specialized memory care programs for those with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia and other memory impairments. This is a highly personalized treatment program that recognizes the unique issues facing each individual. The staff is trained to provide care in an environment that is not only safe and secure, but attentive and holistic. These memory care and Alzheimer's programs focus on enriching the lives of the residents and go above and beyond to meet the spiritual, psychosocial and emotional needs of every resident, their families and friends by recognizing that all are impacted by dementia, or other memory-related diagnosis. |
