Avalon Assisted Living ResidencesAdvanced Standing is a voluntary program for assisted living residences. It is a step toward assuring that assisted living residents receive quality care and aids consumers in choosing the best residence for them.
The Department of Health, the government agency that inspects and licenses assisted living facilities in New Jersey, has collaborated with the Health Care Association of New Jersey Foundation to expand oversight of facilities and ensure that all state licensing regulations and quality benchmarks are met. Residences that are found to provide more than the minimum and strive for excellence are awarded the special designation of Advanced Standing. The Avalon Assisted Living Residences in Bridgewater and Hillsborough have maintained Advanced Standing status since the initiation of the program in 2012. In addition, both residences demonstrate dedication to quality by participation in the National Center for Assisted Living’s Quality Performance Measures Survey and meeting the benchmarks for certain prescribed quality indicators as chosen by the Peer Review Panel of the Health Care Association of New Jersey Foundation.
