Jessica Pelligrino Tsoukalas, Director of Business Development and Strategy at Bridgeway Senior Healthcare (BSH), has been elected to the National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) Board of Directors. NCAL relies on its board of directors and members to share their deep knowledge and expertise to help move the association and the profession forward. “As an independent owner who is also involved in daily operations, I am committed to serving the membership of NCAL by furthering the work of the leadership on regulatory and reimbursement issues affecting the Assisted Living industry,” Pelligrino Tsoukalas said. “My vision for NCAL is to continue to advocate for the senior care industry so that our important work can be better valued by society and policymakers alike. By focusing on members’ commitment to quality and through creative staffing solutions, NCAL can continue to collaborate with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and government officials to encourage appropriate allocation of funds to our sector,” said Pelligrino Tsoukalas. “If we can continue to drive sensible reimbursement for our industry, we can pay our employees more competitive wages, continue to invest in our buildings, and allocate resources to a resident-centered care model that the discerning Baby Boomer generation will demand as they become the primary consumers of our services.” Pelligrino Tsoukalas grew up in the senior care and living industry, making her naturally passionate about delivering the highest quality care and services in a setting that feels like home. She lives with her family in Central New Jersey and is a third generation owner and operator of the Bridgeway Senior Healthcare family of senior living communities with locations in Bridgewater and Hillsborough, New Jersey. Currently, the Bridgeway continuum of services includes two Assisted Living Residences, two Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Facilities, and a Home Therapy company.
