Bridgeway Senior Healthcare, a leading senior living and healthcare provider in Central New Jersey, has announced that Jessica Pelligrino Tsoukalas, Executive Vice President, has been recognized by the Somerset County Business Partnership as one of its esteemed 40 Under 40 Honorees for 2024.
Nominations were accepted from business people, professionals, entrepreneurs, elected officials, and community leaders whose successes and demonstrations of strong leadership have gone above and beyond within their jobs, families and community organizations. Nominees were evaluated for their commitment to business growth and development, professional excellence, leadership, achievements, and community service. Pelligrino Tsoukalas grew up in the senior care and living industry, making her naturally passionate about delivering the highest quality care and services in a setting that feels like home. She lives with her family in Central New Jersey and is a third generation owner and operator of the Bridgeway Senior Healthcare family of senior living communities. Currently, the Bridgeway fully integrated continuum of services includes two Assisted Living Residences, two Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Facilities, and a Home Therapy company. She has been part of the leadership team at Bridgeway Senior Healthcare for the past 13 years. “As a third generation owner and operator of skilled nursing facilities and assisted living residences in Somerset County, I know I have big shoes to fill,” said Pelligrino Tsoukalas. “My grandfather and father built Bridgeway Senior Healthcare into a thriving local healthcare provider and one of the largest healthcare employers in Somerset County.” Pelligrino Tsoukalas guided the company through the COVID-19 pandemic, providing essentials to staff and working hard to keep morale high during a challenging, sad time. She identified an opportunity to assist seniors in their rehabilitation beyond the doors of Bridgeway Senior Healthcare. This led Pelligrino Tsoukalas to start the newest part of the Bridgeway Continuum of Care in 2020 – Bridgeway Care at Home. Under her guidance, the company has grown to provide therapy services for hundreds of patients around Somerset County right in the comfort of their own homes. This means that patients who would not have had the ability to travel to a clinic for therapy are now able to receive services! Pelligrino Tsoukalas has grown many strong relationships with local hospitals and physicians. She has worked to improve care throughout Bridgeway’s four buildings by partnering with Robert Wood Johnson hospitalists to encourage continuity of care between the hospital and Bridgeway. She has been elected to the Health Care Association of New Jersey Executive Committee, appointed to Bridgewater’s Health Advisory Board and elected as a member of the Board of Directors of the National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL). Pelligrino Tsoukalas is a graduate of Future Leaders of Long-Term Care in America and has completed the American Health Care Association Political Advocacy program. She has participated in Leadership Somerset, completing a program aimed at enhancing leadership skills and broadening awareness about community resources. Pelligrino Tsoukalas is the Chairwoman of the New Jersey Healthcare Political Action Committee. She has served as a Board member on the Somerset County Board of Social Services for six years, helping to steer the direction of the Board in service to Somerset County’s most needy and most vulnerable citizens. As a volunteer with the Health Care Association of New Jersey and the American Health Care Association, Pelligrino Tsoukalas travels around New Jersey and to Washington D.C. to advocate for the seniors she serves at the Bridgeway Senior Healthcare communities.
